Paul Smith, FCA, CFA, MA
is strategic advisor to SuisseTechPartners and an independent corporate director.
He served as President and CEO of CFA Institute from January 2015 to September 2019.

Previously he owned and ran Asia Alternative Asset Partners, a Hong Kong Hedge Fund Group.
​
He first came to Hong Kong in 1996 to run the Bank of Bermuda’s securities servicing business and on sale to HSBC acted as Global Head of HSBC’s alternative funds servicing business.
​
From 1984 to 1995 he worked for Ermitage International a European fund manager spending the last seven years as CEO.
He started his career as an auditor at PriceWaterhouse in London.

Paul is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Master of Arts degree from Oxford University.
Jürgen Stahl, Dipl. Mathematiker

is strategic advisor to Suisse Tech Partners.
Jürgen is in early retirement since late 2018, but still engaged in advising start-up companies, particularly in the FinTech space.
He served as Vice President IT for Union Investment in Frankfurt, Germany from 1997 to 2018, being responsible for business processes and IT support in the investment process.
Prior to that Jürgen worked for 8 years at Lufthansa German Airlines in various IT projects, around decision support systems.
From 1986 to 1989, he worked as a consultant for Symbolics, a company specializing in AI systems.
Jürgen holds a diploma in mathematics and computer science from Technical University Darmstadt. Before starting his career in IT he worked for 4 years as research assistant at USC Columbia and the Technical University Darmstadt, his main research interest being in combinatorics and graph theory.
